The Maryland Green Registry presented the 2013 Leadership Award to Elysian Energy for outstanding contributions to environmentally responsible and sustainable business practices. The Registry honored its top performers at the Annual Membership and Awards Event on June 11, 2014 at the Courtyard Marriott in Chevy Chase, MD.

The Maryland Green Registry recognizes organizations that have shown a strong commitment to the implementation of sustainable practices, the demonstration of measurable results and the continual improvement of environmental performance with the leadership awards.

The Registry is a voluntary program that promotes and recognizes environmentally sustainable practices in organizations of all types and sizes statewide. Visit the Maryland Green Registry website for tips and resources designed to help organizations set and meet their own goals on the path to sustainability.

“This Award honors the highest level of commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable business practices,” said Secretary Robert M. Summers, Maryland Department of the Environment. “ Elysian Energy is truly demonstrating the leadership that our state needs to help build a sustainable future.”

“Our Green Team has worked really hard this year to promote a culture of sustainability and awareness for environmental practices,” said Jim Conlon, President. “We are especially proud of our Green Week Scavenger Hunt, which brought together the whole Elysian team for a week’s worth of sustainability activities. It was a lot of fun!”

Maryland Green Registry Leadership Award winners all have several key factors in common that contribute to their success: an organization-wide commitment to environmental performance; a green team that meets on a regular basis; and annual environmental goals and measurement of results. Past winners can be viewed on the Registry website.
