Passive Homes Across America

The Greenest Home - Julie Torres Moskovitz

The Greenest Home: Superinsulated and Passive House Design by Julie Torres Moskovitz

Passive House designer Julie Torres Moskovitz has recently published a book about Passive Houses across the country, entitled The Greenest Home: Superinsulated and Passive House Design. The book features beautiful photos of the living spaces that make up passive homes and illustrates the innovative steps that builders and designers are taking to make uber-green homes. Dwell has a fantastic blog post on the book, with an interactive slideshow where you can see some of the Passive Houses featured in the book. You can also check out Julie Torres Moskovitz’s work on ‘Tighthouse’, New York City’s first Passive House, here.

We are thrilled that Passive House is picking up steam across the country because we know first-hand what an incredible impact Passive Houses have on the comfort and sustainability of homes. Passive House’s high level of accuracy sets it apart: the average Passive House uses 92% less energy than standard homes.

The Greenest Home was published by the Princeton Architectural Press in June of 2013.
