We are accepting applications for a Home Energy Consultant to help homeowners lower their energy bills. Your role will be to educate homeowners about measures they can take to reduce their energy consumption, and you’ll be able to make improvements right away! The job is based out of our Silver Spring office with service areas located primarily in Northern Virginia.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to different neighborhoods going door-to-door with the goal of getting homeowners to sign up for a Home Energy Check-Up
  • Perform a Home Energy Check-up for the homeowner.
  • Interpret and communicate with homeowners in a clear and accessible manner.
  • Install and explain the benefits of various energy saving products such as CFLs, faucet aerators, and low-flow shower heads.
  • Work an assigned territory, often up to 30-50 houses or locations per day.
  • Work with office staff to schedule appointments you set each day.

Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience

  • Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record and reliable access to an insured vehicle
  • Must be able to pass background and reference checks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to absorb, process, utilize and communicate technical concepts
  • Ideal candidate is energetic and personable with a demonstrated passion for contributing to the sustainability movement.
